Dilrukshi Mendis – The Mutifaceted Artist

I move between two distinct yet deeply connected creative worlds – fine art and whimsical illustration. Whilst on the surface they may seem like opposites, they both draw from the same well; a commitment to emotional truth, inclusivity, imagination and integrity.

My fine art practice is grounded in reflection and ritual. These are slow, intentional works that hold space – for memory, for ancestry and for the viewer’s own spark of recognition and connection.

Alongside, under the name Pawlick Bones, I embrace the absurd and playful. My illustration work celebrates the quirky, the joyful and flights of pure whimsy. Through humour it bridges cultures and sparks connection and joy.

I wasn’t meant to choose between the poetic and the peculiar – they are both part of who I am and how I see, engage, feel and create.

Narrative Paintings to Stir the Soul

My fine art practice explores themes of belonging and personal transformation through my memories. Each piece is layered with meaning, symbolism and emotional resonance.

About Me

Artist. Illustrator. Storyteller.

I began painting in childhood, left art behind for a career in finance, then found my way back through storytelling. My work now bridges the personal and the universal- from gallery exhibitions to market stalls, everything I create holds a moment of connection.
